Cursive is Back at Big Spring

Writing is one of the skills that reinforce reading skills and language understanding. We brought back Cursive improving handwriting skills and giving the children the ability to understand the founding documents.

Flex Time for Improvement

Utilizing flex time to help students get more instructional time was a admin idea that I supported. This time will be used to help students close the gaps in learning.

Common Core Common Problem

Common core is just that an attempt to make the way we teach math the same across all schools. But is it the best thing to teach for understanding and capability of the students. Data suggest no! Parents are left be hind and can not help kids learn. Kids are not picking up on math skills as fast as they should. Common core is often used to force kids in to a stringent way of problem solving any attempt to have ones own under standing offten is not allowed. Lets find a better way to teach math.
